Applying for a Grant of Probate
Administering an estate is a time consuming and onerous job for Executors. When a Grant of Probate is required the Executors must swear an oath to confirm that they will act in accordance with the law and provide a full inventory of the estate. It can take some time to collate all the relevant information particularly relating to Inheritance Tax before an application can be made to the Probate Registry.
When making a personal application it is not uncommon to have to wait for ten to twelve weeks for an appointment at the Probate Registry which may be some distance from your home, with a further 10 days delay before the Grant of Probate arrives.
By visiting our local office you can reduce this timescale considerably and in most straightforward cases we can obtain a Grant of Probate within two weeks, after collation of all the assets and liabilities.
We are happy to help with all aspects of the administration of an estate and can do as much or as little of the process as you wish.
